Our Story

The First Herd story begins in the north, where expansive paddocks and a blend of native and improved pastures give calves the strongest start. At the centre of this land lies The Overflow — birthplace of Kaneyama and Katsumi, early symbols of a herd rooted in Japan’s most revered bloodlines and refined on Australian soil.

SHAPED BY THE LAND

As the animals mature, they journey south to the cool New England highlands of New South Wales. In this pristine climate, with fertile soils and natural pastures, they thrive — producing Wagyu defined by provenance, nourished by the land, and refined for the world’s finest tables.

Born of this land.
